Art and Expression I love to explore ideas through expression. I am in a state of perpetual flux - my thoughts about issues come, change, grow, climax, disappoint, revive themselves...and, the cycle begins again. I love this cycle (most of the time). Alexandra Woods began painting as a means of drawing attention to international social injustices and human rights violations. This preoccupation led Woods to study Human Rights at Carleton University, where she acquired further knowledge of the conflicts surrounding the establishment and application of universal human rights, which is reflected in her artistry. Her early work consists of large-scale acrylic paintings that focus on international social and political issues and events. more |
